The short version
This website is a personal and professional site for Steve Davison. It is reading material. There is no form on it, no shop, no login and no newsletter, so there is nothing here for you to fill in.
The one thing we do collect is anonymous statistics about which pages people read, using Google Analytics, and only if you agree to it when the banner asks you. If you say no, it does not run.
If you want to get in touch, the site gives you an email address and a telephone number. You use your own email program or your own phone, and it reaches the practice directly. It does not pass through this website, and this website never sees it or stores it.
This website does not hold patient records. If you are a patient of Elaris Chiropractic & Wellbeing Centre, your clinical notes are held by the practice under its own arrangements, not by this website.

What this website collects
Almost nothing, and that is deliberate
There is no form, no account, no comment section, no download that asks for your details, and no newsletter sign-up. Nothing on this site asks you to type anything, so nothing you type can be collected.
Almost no cookies. Before you answer the banner, the only cookie you receive is the one that remembers your answer. Our cookie notice lists every cookie by name, with what it does and how long it lasts.
Nothing else is loaded from another company. The fonts are stored on our own server rather than fetched from Google. There are no embedded videos, maps, booking systems, review widgets or social media feeds. Apart from analytics, if you agree to it, your browser does not contact another company when you read a page here.
Analytics, only if you agree
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people read, so that we know what is worth writing more of. It is provided by Google.
It does not run unless you agree. A banner asks you the first time you visit. If you refuse, nothing analytics-related is set or sent, and you can read the whole site exactly as before. You can change your answer at any time from the “Cookie settings” link in the footer, and withdrawing stops it immediately.
If you do agree, Google Analytics collects:
- which pages you looked at, their titles and web addresses, and when,
- a randomly generated number stored in your browser, so that repeat visits are counted as one person rather than several,
- roughly where in the world you are, worked out from your internet address, and
- general information about your device, browser and screen.
It does not collect your name or your email address, because nothing on this site asks for them. It does record which pages you read, and on this site the pages are about pain and about chiropractic, so your choice of reading is part of what is measured. That is one of the reasons we ask first rather than assuming.
The information goes to Google. Google processes it on our behalf, and also as described in its own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. We do not run advertising on this site and we do not use this information to advertise to you; how Google handles the data on its side is governed by its own terms and policies rather than by us. If you would rather stay out of that entirely, refuse the banner and analytics does not run at all.
Server logs, which is the one thing
Like every website, ours runs on a server, and that server keeps a log of requests made to it. A log entry records things like the internet address the request came from, which page was requested, the date and time, and which browser was used.
We do not use these logs to build a picture of you or to track you between visits. They exist so the site can be kept running, kept secure, and investigated when something breaks or when the site is attacked. Our hosting provider keeps them for a short period and then they are overwritten.
An internet address can count as personal information, which is why we are telling you about it rather than treating it as too minor to mention.
If you email or telephone us
The site publishes an email address and a telephone number so that you can reach the practice. Please read this bit, because it is the part that matters most.
Your message does not go through this website. When you click the email address, your own email program opens. The message travels from your email provider to ours. This website is not in the chain, does not receive a copy, and stores nothing. The same is true of a telephone call.
Your email will be handled by the practice, and read by Steve Davison, a chiropractor registered with the General Chiropractic Council and under a professional duty of confidentiality.
Please do not put detailed medical information in a first email. If you are asking about an appointment or about care, keep it brief. Tell us that you would like to be seen, or ask your question in general terms, and we will ask you for anything clinical we need when we reply or when you come in. There are two reasons for asking:
- Ordinary email is not a secure way to send information about your health. It is fine for arranging things and it is not the right place for your medical history.
- We would rather not hold information about you that we do not need.
If you would rather not put anything about your health in writing, ring instead, or email to ask us to call you.
If your symptoms are urgent, do not use email. Email is not monitored continuously. Contact your GP, call NHS 111, or in an emergency call 999.

There is no form software, no advertising network, no customer database and no marketing platform, because the site does not use any.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We will disclose information if the law requires it, for example to a regulator or a court, but that is not routine and has not happened.
Sending information outside the UK
Both companies above operate international infrastructure, so information may be stored or handled outside the United Kingdom.
Analytics information is collected in the first instance through Google’s European servers, and Google may then transfer it outside the UK, including to the United States.
Where information goes outside the UK we rely on the transfer safeguards set out in those providers’ data protection terms, which are the arrangements recognised under UK data protection law as providing suitable protection. If you want the current position for either provider, email us and we will tell you.

If you would like us to delete an email exchange sooner, ask and we will, unless we have a specific reason to keep it, and then we will tell you what it is.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask what we hold about you and get a copy of it.
- Have mistakes corrected.
- Ask us to delete it.
- Ask us to stop or limit what we do with it while a question about it is sorted out.
- Object to us using it where we rely on our legitimate interests.
- Receive it in a portable form where it was given to us by you and we rely on your consent or on a contract.
- Withdraw your consent at any time where we rely on consent. This does not affect anything done beforehand.
These rights are not absolute and there are situations where they do not apply, which we will explain if it ever arises.
To use any of them, email hello@elarischiropractic.co.uk. We will normally respond within one month. It is free. We may ask you to confirm who you are first, so that we do not give your information to somebody else.
How to complain
Please come to us first. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, email hello@elarischiropractic.co.uk with “Data protection complaint” in the subject line, or write to the postal address above.
We will:
- acknowledge your complaint within 30 days of receiving it,
- look into it and tell you the outcome without undue delay, and
- keep you posted in the meantime if it is taking a while.
You can also complain to the regulator. The Information Commissioner’s Office is the UK regulator for data protection. You can complain to them at any time and you do not need our permission. They ask that you raise it with us first, but that is not a requirement.

Changes to this notice
If we change this notice we will change the date at the top. If we change something significant, for example if we ever add a form, or start using analytics for a new purpose, we will say so clearly on the page and we will not start before this notice says so.
